Activities

The activities that St Georges House offers takes into account the residents interests, skills, experiences, personalities and abilities. The home offers a wide range of activities designed to encourage clients to remain mobile and active. Staff will encourage residents where possible to pursue their hobbies and interests.

Outings are organised to suit individual preferences and sometimes one to one outings, doing whatever the resident has requested.

Compatible group outings are also organised on the resident’s suggestions and choice. Musical events are arranged inviting pianists, musicians and entertainers into the home.

Buffet parties are provided every Saturday which are a lovely social event and include a little tipple. Once a month, a fish and chip supper is organised from a local fish and chip shop(mushy peas are optional!).

Artistic crafts and gardening are a weekly theme with active sessions, such as skittles, darts, games and exercise groups.

Interactive, thought provoking and fun activities ere held on a regular basis including quizzes, play your cards right, memory games and of course bingo of all kinds to help keep minds active and entertained.

Big screen movie afternoons for a cinematic experience are a firm favourite within the house.
If residents have any suggestions of activities they would like to take part in, they are encouraged to make requests with the management team who will endeavour to make arrangements. Meetings are held with residents every six weeks to discuss their views and encourage them to be involved in the day to day management of their home.
